Compare

Best AI Form Builders in 2026

Twelve AI-native form builders, scored against eight criteria summing to 84. The same rubric that powers every Dashform comparison page — transparent weights, explicit tradeoffs, and the cases where we ourselves lose.

How we score these tools

Eight criteria, weighted to 84 total points. Two reviewers run the same reference funnel — a six-question lead-qualification quiz with scoring, an end-screen variant per score band, and a Google Sheets sync — on each platform, then score independently. If totals diverge by more than 8 points we re-test together. We re-score the four most-trafficked tools every 90 days; the rest every 180 days.

The full rubric, the things we deliberately don't measure, and the tools we cut before publishing all live in the methodology post.

The ranking

Higher score = better fit for the reference funnel. Scores below 40/84 are not on this list — see "What we excluded" below.

How each tool scored, in plain English

#1

Dashform AI Form

Best overall — qualifies and adapts in one funnel

69/84

Dashform AI Form preview

AI-native end to end. Generation from a single prompt, multi-turn conversation, in-funnel scoring and routing, and an MCP endpoint that lets agents submit responses on a respondent's behalf. Loses to Typeform on theme polish; beats it on conversion utility, qualification depth, and agent-readiness.

Where it wins

AI generation, qualification depth, agent-readiness

Where it loses

Theme depth and motion polish

Pricing: Free tier (30 AI credits/mo); Pro $39/mo (250 credits, 25 forms).

#2

Typeform

Best theme polish — losing ground on AI

60/84

Typeform preview

The category's design and motion gold standard. AI generation works but is a thin layer on a traditional form engine; no in-funnel scoring, no agent surface. We pick a different bar (conversion utility), so on this rubric Typeform's theme depth doesn't carry the day.

Where it wins

Conversion-friendly UX, integrations breadth

Where it loses

AI-agent readiness, lead qualification depth, pricing

Pricing: Free with Typeform branding; Basic from $25/mo (100 responses).

#3

Tally.so

Most generous free tier — minimal AI

57/84

Tally.so preview

Powerful free plan with unlimited forms and responses, logic, uploads, and payments. AI is bolt-on rather than core. Right answer when the constraint is budget and the funnel is straightforward.

Where it wins

Pricing fairness, data export

Where it loses

AI generation, agent-readiness

Pricing: Free unlimited forms; Pro $29/mo for branding and conditional emails.

#4

Typebot

Visual chatbot builder with deep logic

57/84

Typebot preview

Block-based builder for chat-style flows. Strong logic and webhook controls, optional self-hosting. Best for engineers who want full visual control over the conversation graph; not the right call for non-technical creators.

Where it wins

Logic depth, integrations, self-hosting

Where it loses

Setup speed for non-technical users

Pricing: Free for 200 chats/mo; Starter from $39/mo.

#5

Jotform

Broad surface — limited AI native

55/84

Jotform preview

Mature form platform with thousands of templates, integrations, and form types. The AI features bolt onto an existing engine; in-funnel scoring is conditional logic, not a real engine. Right pick when integration breadth matters more than AI depth.

Where it wins

Integration breadth, broad use case coverage

Where it loses

AI-native depth, agent-readiness

Pricing: Free for 5 forms; Bronze $34/mo for 25 forms.

#6

Formless

Multilingual conversational AI forms

51/84

Formless preview

Conversational engine with 120+ language support and AI follow-ups. Smaller integration surface and weaker free tier than the leaders. Best when global respondent coverage is a hard constraint.

Where it wins

Language coverage, AI follow-ups

Where it loses

Pricing, integration breadth

Pricing: From $59/mo.

#7

Formshare

Lightweight AI surveys with a generous free tier

49/84

Formshare preview

Simple AI generation focused on surveys and quizzes. Conversational UI is lightweight and integration depth is limited. Right pick for quick prototypes and content-marketing quizzes that don't need scoring or agent submission.

Where it wins

Free unlimited forms, fast generation

Where it loses

Qualification depth, integrations

Pricing: Free unlimited forms.

#8

Google Forms

Free, fast, no AI

46/84

Google Forms preview

Free in a way nothing else can match. No AI generation, no in-funnel scoring, no agent surface. Right answer when the funnel is simple, the budget is zero, and the data lands in Google Sheets.

Where it wins

Pricing (free), setup speed

Where it loses

AI-native, qualification, agent-readiness

Pricing: Free with a Google account.

#9

Quill Forms

Conversational forms for WordPress

45/84

Quill Forms preview

WordPress plugin delivering Typeform-style conversational UX with logic, variables, and payments. Right pick when the funnel must live inside an existing WordPress build and you want a one-time license, not a SaaS subscription.

Where it wins

WordPress integration, one-time pricing

Where it loses

AI generation, agent-readiness

Pricing: $99/year (one-time annual).

#10

BuildForm.ai

AI prompt-driven form builder

44/84

BuildForm.ai preview

Focuses on natural-language generation and chat-style forms with basic analytics. Smaller catalog of integrations and limited qualification logic. Right for quick chat experiences via a single prompt input.

Where it wins

Prompt-based generation

Where it loses

Integration breadth, qualification

Pricing: Free + paid plans.

#11

Deformity.ai

AI-enhanced form builder with logic jumps

44/84

Deformity.ai preview

Dialogue-driven filling with branding customization and conditional jumps. Smaller team and integration surface. Right when you want both AI assist and visual flexibility but don't need MCP / agent-readiness.

Where it wins

Logic jumps + AI assist combo

Where it loses

Integration breadth, agent-readiness

Pricing: Free + paid plans.

#12

BlockSurvey

Privacy-focused encrypted forms

41/84

BlockSurvey preview

End-to-end encryption, anonymous responses, zero tracking. AI features are lightweight insights rather than a generation engine. Right pick when respondent confidentiality is a hard requirement (HR, mental health, regulated research).

Where it wins

Privacy, data ownership

Where it loses

AI-native, agent-readiness

Pricing: $39–79/mo.

Where Dashform itself loses

We'd rather lead with this than pretend our own product wins on every criterion.

  • Theme depth — Typeform. Their design system and motion polish are the category gold standard. We picked a different bar (conversion utility over visual maximalism). If visual polish is your top criterion, Typeform is the right tool.
  • Raw price — Google Forms. Free in a way nothing else is. We're a different product (qualification + AI generation + agent-ready), but if free is the constraint, Forms is the answer.
  • Enterprise maturity — Tools founded pre-2015. A 10-year head start on SOC 2 polish, EU data residency, and audit trails. We're solid for mid-market and getting better, not the most mature option for a regulated Fortune 100 buyer in 2026.

What we excluded

We started with twenty-two tools. Eight were cut before any of this list was written.

  • No longer maintained. Three tools we tested had not shipped a meaningful release in 12+ months and showed no public roadmap movement. Comparing live tools to fading ones makes a list age into junk fast.
  • Enterprise-only with no self-serve tier. Two tools required a sales call before any account creation. Our /compare audience runs on a credit card and a Tuesday afternoon — sales-gated tools belong in a different roundup.
  • Google Forms wrappers. Two products added theming or a few branching rules on top of Forms but inherited every Forms limitation. We list Google Forms directly instead.
  • Survey-only, no qualification. One tool refused to support lead capture, scoring, or routing. A great survey product, but apples-to-oranges against funnels that qualify and route.

Cadence: we re-score in batches. The next batch is 2026-08-15. If a page's last reviewed date is older than 12 months when you're reading it, treat the specifics as stale — we'll have updated by then or pulled the entry.
